Intel AHCI drivers are marginally faster than MS Standard AHCI driver, but check for stability issues just in case.
    Thanks.

I believe it's the Windows AHCI driver that I currently have installed. Perhaps I will see how the RST driver compares.
    Let us know.

Well I installed the Intel RST drivers today and am experiencing occasional heavy stutters in a game that I normally don't. However this game is updated regularly and sometimes they introduce performance issues so hard to say if it's the game or the RST drivers.

I wonder if the system needs to 'learn' the new SATA drivers?

Thanks. I'll defer to your wisdom and not "fix" what's not broke on my system

Nearly every time something goes wrong it's something I did

My monitor and video card started acting up because I went cheap on an HDMI cable

There is a feature in RST called Link Power Management. It's a power saving feature and older tweak guides recommend disabling it. I'll get back with some Microsoft AHCI vs RST drive benchmarks.

RST drivers look worse than the MS ones. Benchmark with MS driver is 11/17/20

Do you have Rapid Mode enabled or disabled under Performance Optimization in Samsung Magician?

I have it off and seeing that MS AHCI driver is better like you reported.

Rapid mode is disabled. I'm going to try and roll back to the MS driver.

Update driver, "let me choose" (IIRC-not at PC right now ) is how I easily went back and forth between the two.

Since you have 32 GB, you can probably afford to have rapid mode enabled and see further improvement. I only have 16 GB and rapid mode uses 1 GB
