    Blue Ray Movie won't play

I have a blue ray DVD player on my computer, but never tried to play a movie before. Since my actual player broke, I tried to play a rental movie on my computer. My drive is:
    Blue Ray Movie won't play-image.png

When I tried to play the movie, I got this message:
    Blue Ray Movie won't play-image.png
I don't know much about hardware. Do I need a different graphics card or what?
    Thank you in advance,

As it says, you need to connect your Graphics Card to Monitor with a DVI-D, HDMI, or DisplayPort leads. i.e. digital connection.

The Graphics Card and monitor must support HDCP.

You have not given the hardware detail required so no one can look that up for you.
It will be in the specs of those 2 pieces of hardware.

To elaborate on Helmut's post, HDCP is High bandwidth Digital Copy Protection.

The card and monitor must both support HDCP to play a copy protected BluRay disk. I expect all commercial BluRay movies are copy protected.

You must also use a digital connection (not VGA).

If your graphics card and monitor both support a digital interface (DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI), but you're using a VGA connection, I suggest a cable upgrade. If your monitor is VGA only, you may be stuck finding a hack that circumvents HDCP.

Thank you both for your responses.

I have a Nvidia GeFroce 370 graphic card with 457.09 driver. Not sure how to give you monitor information.

I don`t see a Blu-ray player listed anywhere in your specs, it only shows a CD Rom, you need a Blu-ray player to watch a Blu-ray disc.

AddRAM - Under ‘Name’ BD RE is listed, this refers to blu ray drive. :)
    To the OP:
You need to connect the PC to an external monitor with an HDMI cable.

Thank you both for your responses. I looked at the back of my LG monitor. There is an input for an HDMI cable. I'm not exactly sure how to modify my setup.

I have 1 monitor & 1 mouse for 2 machines (a Win10 & WinXP machine). Right now, I have a VGA cable that goes from the back of the monitor into a KVM switch. The KVM switch has 2 VGA cables that plug into the graphics card of each computer & I can switch back & forth.

    1. Is there a way that I can modify this setup so that I don't lose the ability to switch between computers, but can still watch Blue Ray? If so, can you please tell me how?

    2. Can I just add an HDMI cable & plug it into the back of the monitor & also to the graphics card without removing the VBA?

    Thank you again.

I would try it, if it doesn’t work then you may have to change the set up.

Thank you. I'll have to get an HDMI cable. I'll post back. I appreciate your time & knowledge.
