    SSD large written question

    Looking for explanation if possible.
Relatively new computer Febuary 2020 , 256Evo Pro ssd as OS only , 1TB Evo as programs and storage ,with a 4TB USB drive for backups and storage.

Evo pro with 47GB of used yet samsung magician software shows 2 Tb written in such a short space of time .
Is this normal ,just with MS updates and daily computer used daily.
No videos etc downloaded , Just Malwarebytes Pro and windows defender operating of EvoPro .
Original OS was ver 1909 ,all updates performed till 2004Ver ,have not updated the October 13th latest .
Searched internet but can not reach acceptable answer.

    Yeah, that's fine.

I have a Crucial system drive that has been in use for 5.5 years.

    Total written 30 TB.

That's about 5.5 TB per year.

You're on a path to write 3, maybe 4 TB in a year. Completely normal and less than me.

Don't worry about it. If you are anxious, you can look up the "TBW" for your drive. It's probably above 100 somewhere. Possibly as high as 300----I haven't looked. That figure would come into play if you tried to make a warranty claim.

Suppose your warranty is 5 years. If you wrote 600 TB in 4 years and tried to make a warranty claim, Samsung could deny the claim because you had exceeded the rated TBW.

Your chances of exceeding that are near zero at your rate of perhaps 4 TB per year.

Fact is, the drive will likely last longer than the TBW anyway.

Check the size of the shadow copies storage -

Open an elevated (Run as adminstrator) Command prompt -

    Enter vssadmin list shadowstorage
