Rip R2 DVDs on BD-ROM drive?

    Hey, all

Okay. I live in the States. On earlier PCs I made sure my DVD drive was region-free. Around half of my DVDs are R2. I have a region-free DVD player, but no TV to hook it to (my monitors default to VGA, DVI and HDMI). My BD player exploded, so I watch things on my monitor or not at all.

I have some of my R2 DVDs out that I'd love to watch, but I'm going to have to be able to rip them. When I try to just play them (at least Windows sees them as data disks) I get the old Invalid Region error.

Any suggestions on how I might rip my R2 disks to watch the episodes? Or does anyone make region-free firmwares any more? (Hopefully that's not a forbidden question hereabouts. No offense was meant.)

    Thanks!

    Davey

I'm having trouble thinking of a polite way to ask whether you did a Web search before asking here.
