    Mouse pointer freezes

Not all the time, but enough to make it annoying, my mouse pointer freezes if I move it across the page quickly. Sometimes it is only for 10-15 seconds - other times it's a lot longer. Sometimes I have to take the dongle out and put it back in the USB slot before it works. Is there some setting I'm missing? I'm running Windows 10 Pro ver 1909 on an Acer Aspire. The mouse is a Logitech M215.

Device manager says the right driver is installed.

I would check the Logitech website and confirm.

You can also try uninstalling the mouse from Device Manager, then reboot and let Windows reinstall it and see if that resolves the issue.

Well, I tried to update the firmware and it doesn't recognize the receiver.

Okay, try uninstalling the mouse from Device Manager and reboot the PC.

I just downloaded the Logitech firmware update tool (FirmwareUpdateTool_1.2.169_x86.exe) and it ran fine and said my wireless mouse firmware was up to date. No idea what models it supports though.

This is interesting to read. I wonder if something could be interfering with the mouse receiver. My M215 mouse is not working – Logitech Support + Download

Did this problem just start happening recently? Is the mouse battery fresh? Maybe worth trying a new fresh battery.

Also I didn't find any drivers listed for M215: Downloads - Wireless Mouse M215 – Logitech Support + Download - what "Driver Provider" does it show for the Logitech mouse under Device Manager > Driver tab? Mine shows Logitech.

Additional info: When I put in my model on Logitech site it shows the firmware update tool and other software for my mouse.

Maybe your mouse is just a plain mouse that doesn't have advanced capabilities, so there's no software/firmware updates they offer for it since nothing shows up for that model.

Thanks for all the ideas. I had surgery the day after I posted this so I didn't have time to play around with any of the suggestions. I changed the mouse with another one I have so I'll see if that works while I recover.
