USB game controller shuts down after a few seconds after connecting it

    Solved

    SpeedLink Xeox controller

It worked fine up until a few days ago, and it still works when tested on another machine but not on my PC.

In Device Manager it gives this error:

A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and I tried to enable any service that might somehow be responsible for this but it didn't work.

    Win10 Pro 64-bit, Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.572)

I was able to fix it by deleting this registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\DRIVERS\DriverDatabase\DeviceIds\USB\Vid_045E&Pid_028E

The ID/path at the end of the key comes from Device Manager > Properties of the device > Details tab > choose Device instance path in the dropdown menu (2nd option) > copy the path (the middle part)

After that I connected the controller again and it installed it again

    Vid_045E&Pid_028E - possibly Xbox 360 Controller.

I'd check the Speedlink site for updated drivers -

I couldn't find drivers for that product but Windows recognizes it and it works, thanks anyway :)
