Hello @Balkogirl and welcome to TF,
Did you try different USB ports - try both USB 2 and USB 3 (blue) if you have both types.
If it has an external power supply, make sure that is connected.
Try it with a different computer if possible to make sure it still works.
Go to Device Manager and make sure there are no errors or devices with issues showing under Disk Drives, Portable Devices or USB.

Do any other USB devices work on the new laptop?
Has it been formatted?
Does it have a drive letter assigned?
I tried old laptop... it didn't work in it either. How do I get photos off this thing?

If you mean external storage didn't work with old computer either (which it used to work with) , then it sounds dead to me. Please clarify. Make sure the cables are properly inserted into both PC and external storage device as a final check.
Thanks for your advice. iomega has terrific customer service. No one answers the number I was given. I don't mind paying recovery fees, I just lost 11 years of memories.
QUOTE=steve108;2053470]Can you post an Iomega or Amazon link to your specific device?
As far as I know, not without paying a data recovery service and they're not cheap.
Maybe someone else will respond with an idea, but if three PCs are not even seeing the external storage device, it sounds like it died .[/QUOTE]
Hello @Balkogirl,
One possibility is to use a Linux Live USB.
You download the ISO, create a bootable USB, and then boot it. Hopefully then you will be able to access the HDD and extract the required data.
> Linux Live ISOs
I hope this helps!
Let us know if Linux saves the day. I hope you can recover your memories
