Dell Studio One 19 1909 WebCam Drivers for Win 10...

    Windows Pro 64-bit
    Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.572)

I upgraded this Dell Studio One 19 1909 from Vista to Win 10. Afterwards, no camera or mic is detected. There is a USB error in Dev Mgr but I don't know if that is the C&M problem or something else entirely. The DevMgr entry says "Unknown USB Device (Device descriptor request failed) and the event log shows the info below.

Does anyone have any idea how to figure this out?

Thanks in advance for whatever help you can offer.

    Hello @HowardWoodard,
Have you check the manufacturer website for the latest drivers?

Wow, this is an old one: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en...one-19/drivers

Make sure you have the latest BIOS installed - Dell Studio Desktop 1909 BIOS, A10

And unfortunately, right at the top of the Dell Support page for that system, it says -

Windows 10 is not supported on this product.View system requirements

Do you have anything under "Imaging" or "Audio inputs" sections of Device Manager?

Also disconnect any USB devices other than keyboard and mouse to see if those errors in the screenshot go away.

I'm posting from a 10+ year old Dell right now running Windows 10 2004, but no inbuilt camera involved and it works fine - and not supported by Dell for Windows 10, so I got lucky.

Dell Studio One 19 1909 Unknown Device...

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it is old but it looks and works so nicely. :) It's on the latest A10 BIOS.

Yes, my AiO HP printer shows up under imaging and two entries, one for microphone and one for speakers under Audio.

I find it curious that I don't find any references to camera, camera driver or camera software, for any of the listed OSes.

Thanks all for your help. I have not always owned this PC and it has had the touchscreen replaced once. I'm gonna open it up and see if the camera was re-connected afterwards.

    In any event, I'm done.

Again, really appreciate your time and effort on my behalf.

    Regards.

Before you do that, check the BIOS to make sure camera is not disabled in there. So camera has never worked since you owned the PC?

Well, one final update. I opened it up, and everything looked correct, I unplugged the camera connector to the mobo to get a better look at things but saw nothing out of order. I plugged it back in and put it back together. Voila, there's the "OEM Cam" in DevMgr and the Win 10 driver and camera app works perfectly. Go figure...

At any rate, all is good again in [old] Dell AiO land.
