Thank you jumanji. I don't think it had multiple partitions. I am at work right now. When I get home this evening I will implement your suggestions. Thanks again.

That looks good to go. Only one partition and all the data is there. Now go ahead with Partition Recovery using Partition Wizard version 9.1. When the lost partition is shown, put a tickmark in the square to select the partition and doubleclick on it to confirm that all files are shown in the resulting Partition explorer Window. Close that window and click on Finish. The disk will be shown alive in the next window. Right click on the partition > Change Letter, assign a drive letter and click on Apply in the top Menu Bar. Done. The partition has been restored.

Once again, thank you. I have Minitool Partition Wizard Free 10.2.2. Will this work?

Not sure what you mean by: When the lost partition is shown, put a tickmark in the square to select the partition and doubleclick on it to confirm that all files are shown in the resulting Partition explorer Window. Can you elaborate a little more.

In versions later than 9.1, Partition Recovery is not free. ( I had put this information in the first screenshot in my post #10) You can run Partition Recovery Wizard in your version 10.2.2. After showing the Lost Partition, it will ask you to buy a Pro Version (USD 129) to finish and write the partition table. Are you willing? Do try and you will know. No harm.

Uninstall your version 10.2.2 and and install version 9.1 to recover for free.
After the quick scan completes and it shows the Lost/Deleted partition

The above screenshots should make the process sufficiently clear.

Repeat from my post #10: Read it again.
You can download PW 9.1 from Download MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition 9.1 for windows - Filepuma.com
Launch it, click on the Partition Recovery Wizard in the left pane > Next > select your WD external to scan > Next > Full Disk > Next > Quick Scan > Next. Wait for the quick scan to complete 100%. At the end of the quick scan you will see a window with the partitions found.

Put a tickmark in the square ......... Now read again the process illustrated in the screenshots above.

After you click on Finish it will return you to the first screen when you launched PW. Right click on the partition which does not have a drive letter and assign a drive letter. Click on Apply on the top Menu bar. (See the screenshot in my post #12.) The actions will be completed and you should be able to access the drive. If need be reboot your PC.

    My book unallocated-image.png I selected disk 2

My book unallocated-image.png I selected full disk

My book unallocated-image.png I selected quick scan

My book unallocated-image.png I then got this. It took 12 hours to scan last night. At the end of the scan, the only thing to put check mark in was the the 128 MB partition. When I clicked finish, it said all partitions will be deleted. I followed the instructions but something is missing. I don't see the 3725.86 GB partition to choose it.

Not sure what to do here.

    @copiman

You did not follow my instructions or haven't understood what all was said and overshot the runway.. You were asked to put a tick mark against the partition shown as "Lost/Deleted". Then you should double click on it and check whether it shows all your folders and files. If it shows, only then you should click on "Finish" to recover the partition and then "Apply".

If it did not find your main partition and did not list it as "Lost/ Deleted" you should have stopped at that and brought it to my notice without doing anything further. Why click on finish to recover any partition that shows as existing or does not show at all in the list? We can only recover "Lost/Deleted" partitions if those are listed and the status shows Lost/Deleted.

Now let me start afresh again and check the present condition of your disk.
    1. Post a screenshot of Windows Disk Management.
    2. Post a screenshot of how your disk looks like in Partition Wizard - the very first screen when you launch PW.
    3. Run GetDataBack and check whether it shows all the folders and files as before. Post a screenshot.

I want to make sure everything remains the same and nothing has changed.

Once assured, we shall proceed with some other method to recover the partition. We shall keep GetDataBack as the last option (USD 80 to get a licence to copy files). Don't worry. We all make mistakes and learn from it. And as I said earlier, in Data Recovery nothing is certain, till it becomes certain.

OK. There has been no change. The data is still there.
We shall now check whether TestDisk is of any help. Download the stable version TestDisk 7.1 from TestDisk Download - CGSecurity ( Roll down in that page and you will see v7.1 ) Extract the zip file to the root of your C: drive. You will have a folder named testdisk-7.1 in which you will run testdisk_win.exe ( You can send it to Desktop ( Create a shortcut in Desktop) )

Run testdisk_win.exe and follow the screenshots below.

First Screen: Highlight/select [No Log] Press Enter Key

Second screen: Select your WD disk. [Proceed] is highlighted. Press Enter.

Third Screen: Highlight [EFI GPT] ( if already not highlighted) and press Enter.

Fourth Screen: Highlight [Advanced] and press Enter.

    Fifth Screen:

Well, I can't say what it will be but it will determine whether it is going to help or not.

Take a screenshot of this fifth screen and post it. Close TestDisk.

Let me examine it and see whether there is any light at the end of the tunnel.

TestDisk is not going to help recover the data. Your only option now is to use one of the commercial programs. You have already seen GetDataBack shows all your folders and files (costs USD80). You can also try Active @ File Recovery . Find & Restore Lost Files: Undelete deleted files and recover damaged disks (Costs USD30) Both are "try before you buy". If folders and files are seen you can preview /open and check their integrity and decide whether you want to buy a licence or not, to copy the files to another drive. If you consider that recovering the data is absolutely essential then you can buy one and get done with it. You have to copy all data to another disk.
