Bluetooth detected by Device Manager but isn't working

I just realized that the Bluetooth is not working in my laptop. I tried to connect my Bluetooth headphones and it didn't find them. Then I tried to send files from the PC to my smartphone and vice versa, but neither detected each other. I uninstalled and re-installed the Bluetooth driver, but that didn't work. The driver is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0, version 10.0.3.21

Your My Computer details are not really a lot of help as all it says is
    Computer Type: PC/Desktop
    OS: Windows 10 64-bit

It is of great advantage for anyone trying to assist to know some details of the computer in question.
However even what you have does not help at all in this case as the system in question is a laptop
I just realized that the Bluetooth is not working in my laptop.
Could you please tell us the MAKE and full model of the laptop and the headphones.
    I know you mentioned the
The driver is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0, version 10.0.3.21
but as you maybe aware some laptops require more settings than simply the driver for bluetooth to be enabled,

In respect of your smartphone, far easier to connect usb and transfer files than to configure bluetooth

    thank you.
The problem is that Bluetooth is recognized but not working at all. I used to see my smartphone and send files from and to each other. So the fault is somewhere in the laptop, probably.

The laptop is Lenovo G510, specific model 20238. The headphones are Edifier X3, but again, it's not about them, my computer does not recognize anything anymore. Maybe the antenna that's connected to the Bluetooth card is broken? I did once remove the plastic cover of the LCD and 2 wires came from inside the laptop, through the 2 hinges on left and right going up across the top of the LCD under this cover (from each hinge a cable is coming - one is for Bluetooth and one for Wi-Fi? or both for Wi-Fi?) Maybe I accidentally moved the Bluetooth antenna wire, and then the hinges cut the antenna and I don't even know?

    https://download.lenovo.com/consumer...10g510_hmm.pdf

I would think there was every chance - page 62
The reference number is on page 88

The answer is to test it with a usb bluetooth adapter

On all my Notebooks that have Bluetooth it has been part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter. If the Wireless is off so is the Bluetooth. Most will have a key combination of Fn plus another or a switch to toggle that On or Off in addition to whatever controls Windows adds. I have an older Dell XPS L701x 17" that did not include Bluetooth so I use an IOGEAR USB dongle with it.
