    Two Listings for Same Drive

I didn't see a section for Storage so I guess I post here.

I just installed an external hard drive on a friends computer. I find the drive is listed twice. Same drive letter, same contents. What do I do about this?

I see it twice with my USB drives only in File Explorer's Navigation pane/panel, doesn't seem to cause any issue.

    Hello Jim,

By default, all removable drives are shown separately in the navigation pane of File Explorer in addition to being shown under This PC in the navigation pane.

If you like, you can use the tutorial below to remove the drives in the navigation pane not listed under "This PC".

I don't understand. You do not have two drives with the same letter.

Both entries are in This PC.

Please go ahead and post a screenshot showing this to see if anything may stand out.

I'm not with him now so I can't do a screen capture.

But, it's listed twice in both the Navigation Pane and in This PC as F:Backup
