Both my old and new printers are printing Word docs in very large font

Hi. I had a Brother MFC-J5335DW and all was well until Brother updated the firmware - their word. This created many problems including every Word doc was now printed in very large font size which I estimate to be size 24 or 26, instead of size 12.

Brother were brilliant - they'll be collecting the unit shortly to investigate what's gone wrong.

I decided to buy a new printer and now have a Canon Pixma TS6350. I'm impressed apart from one thing - it too prints every Word doc in size 24 or 26 font.

I've haven't changed any hardware or print settings in my laptop. What do you suggest, please?

I have Windows 10 version 2004 OS Build 19041.450 (and will update my signature in a moment!)

Does this happen in all printing applications? Have you set the right paper size in Word and have you set a scaling factor?

    Good morning, Steve.

The problem happens when I print both Word documents and emails. (Perhaps I should have mentioned emails in the thread title - apologies.)

My settings are my standard A4 portrait, normal margins, Arial, font size 12. Does this info help you?

PS I'm a Welsh guy who was moved to God's own County with my job; I stayed, married and we raised our children here. I love your signature!

If the problem persists and since its a new printer, contact Canon.

Two different printers with the same problem? Can you open a Word document in the built-in WordPad to check how it prints? Another diagnostic I use is the free LibreOffice, can open a lot of formats for verifying a problem or reducing to an issue with another program.

How does a Word document print with setup as Portrait, Normal margins, Calibri (Body), font size 11, 8 ½” x 11?
