I've searched this website and Google to try and find a cd/dvd drive that is not too expensive but has quickish read/write speeds.
I have a new laptop which does not have a built-in cd/dvd. I have bought an external blu-ray/dvd/cd drive but when using EAC to make a copy of my cds the read speed is extremely slow.
Does anyone know of only a cd/dvd drive that is not too expensive but still has pretty quick read/write?

Not sure if certain drives work better with dvd/bluray than cd?
I have an external bluray drive but it's very slow with cds.
The above drives tested worked well with dvd but will it be the same with cds? That's what I'm trying to find and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a make and model that will work well with cds?

looks promising if I can find that model on sale in the UK.
I've got an Asus Blu-Ray/DVD/CD player that's USB 3.0. Works acceptably for all 3 types of media. It may not break any speed records, but for example, it plays audio CDs perfectly.
