    HD 1080P Webcam not working

I checked the updates and as far as I can tell, all updates are current. Just for fun I will run the updater and see what happens.

    Windows 10 comes with Skype.

The problem does not lie in Skype but in Webcamoid.

According to this Skype always shows a mirror image unless configured otherwise:

I remove all the extras that ship with windows that I don't need including Skype but I could install the desktop version.

Windows 10 has a built-in "Camera" app. Look at yourself on it. It does not show a mirror image.
Skype shows a mirror image, which is normal.
Zoom shows a mirror image, which is normal.
A mirror image is normal, but the "Camera" app and Webcamoid do not show a mirror image.

Hey I don't have the "Camera" app either but I believe you.

I installed Skype Desktop and I get a mirror image.

    In Webcamoid I get this:

So if recording video then Webcamoid is showing the correct image (I think)

We may assume that Skype and Zoom are for video calls/conferences, while the "Camera" app and Webcamoid are for video recording.

I would agree with that. I use Zoom at work (not at home)

Here's what I see with an online webcam test. It shows the same as webcamoid.

Apparently 32bit webcamoid should work with Skype but you'd get the reversed image problem.

My friend on the other side of Zoom could read the (Chinese) text of a book I put in front of my webcam. The text was not reversed at his end.

I think that's how it works. From what I can determine you would see a reversed image but the recipient will see it correctly.
