Attached is a screenshot of Disk Management. I would like to get rid of the partition named: "Windows 10 (OLD) (G:)" and consolidate the space with the partition named "Windows 10 (NEW) (C:)". Windows 10 (OLD) is an old version of Windows 10 for which I have no further use. I have the apps:
1. easyBCD (free version)
2. MiniTool Partition Wizard
Not comfortable using the apps to accomplish the consolidation without some guidance. Thank you.......
Offhand, it looks like G could simply be deleted right there in Windows Disk Management, which would leave a bunch of unallocated space next to C---and that unallocated space could then be added to C if you want, also using Windows Disk Management.
But---how was the new C arrived at? It doesn't look like you've done a clean install. If you had, Windows Old would have been eliminated.
I did a clean install on the C: partition. I saved my old Windows files (G:) in case I needed some of the settings saved there. I no longer need those files. How would I go about deleting G:?
A "clean install" means to delete ALL partitions, so that the drive has ONLY "unallocated space". If you in fact retained what is now G, you didn't do a clean install.
Leaving that aside---
As I recall, you can delete a partition with a right click. Look for "delete volume". You could then immediately extend the current C so it takes up the space formerly used by G---again using Disk Management right clicks.
I'm taking your word for it that you don't need anything on that partition.
If "delete volume" isn't available with a right click, I'd take that to mean that Windows needs some files that are now on G.
Unplug/Disconnect all but one external device and image your drive (Macrium Reflect, freeware) to that remaining connected device before you do anything !
Messing around with partitions can be fruitful .... but it can also end in tears.
Backup any useful data on G: drive just before deleting it.
