    Won't print


    ok all was fine had a Brother MFC 440CN was fine had power go down lightning and when all back on would not print So got another printer Canon MX310 which win 10 doesn't support drivers for it you have to use win 7 now the settings all show that the printer is ready but runs thur a print data but no print of any kind So i am thinking the lightning may have got the print circuit in the PC Dell 755 would like to know for sure before I go and buy another PC Is there a way to test this PC

    MX 310 driver


    Unit says I have the win 7 drivers installed but the unit just runs thur data and never prints must have a PC problem

    Again: please, as per the forum prompt when you wrote your post, specify your full Windows build number.

    ok all was fine.

    You could start with Dell diagnostics.

    Also check your disk with e.g. HD Tune v2.55 Health and Error scan tabs e.g. from Softpedia.com.

    If ok, then run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    from an admin command or powershell prompt.

    You could then run a check independent of your installed O/S by booting your PC from a live boot disk. These can be found using Google - e.g. Kyhi's boot disk; Bob Omb's boot disk and more.

    That was typical with the Win10 update issue, seemed to print, job would disappear as normal from the print queue but nothing would appear on the printer.

    Win Upgrade


    Question about Win 10 printer problem. Do you think Microsoft will ever rite a upgrade to fix what they did to mess up all the printers using 10. I know mine used to work and bought another printer still same problem Just was wondering

    Assuming you are referring to build 2004 (now not offered automatically by Windows Update apparently), then see:
    Known and Resolved issues for Windows 10 May 2020 Update version 2004

    from the News section.
    Print spooler might error or close unexpectedly when attempting to print
    Certain printers might be unable to print after taking updates released June 9, 2020.

    Advice


    HELP I GIVE UP I need as to ur suggestions.running Win 10 I on a Dell Optiplex 755 and a Canon MX 310 printer that won't print just a blank page I have done all test and Downloaded Win 7 drivers as said because win 10 will not support anymore All test I run says all is working ok ready to go but still blank page. This is a rebuilt tested printer Do u suggest a new PC or would trying a plug in USB card worth the effort. Ur advice would help

    Have you tried the Windows 8.1 drivers? And instead of getting a new PC to work with the printer, I would think it might be a better idea to get a printer with Windows 10 support to work with the PC.

    Does the USB port work normally with a USB flash drive? Will it read/write files to the flash drive? If yes, it isn't a USB port problem.

    Look on Canon's website maybe? It says it supports Windows 10, and the website also has Windows 10 driver downloads for the printer available.
