Snip & Sketch Print Broken 0x8007007e (config problem) Brother Prtr

Win10 1909 (18363.900)

This is happening on a fairly new Lenovo laptop. It does not happen from an older (also Win10 also Lenovo) laptop. From the newer laptop most printing works. Only Snip & Sketch gets the error. I don't know if it is significant but this printer is used only wirelessly.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the brother driver but that has not helped.

Any ideas?

Thanks dalchina for replying. I tried to install KB4567523 but it said "update not applicable to your computer". It didn't say why. So I looked at recent updates but it isn't on my machine. (See attachment.) It sure sounds like it should fix my problem. Any idea what I might try next?

Try the following -

Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.

Locate Snip & Sketch in the list.

Click to highlight it and then click Advanced options.

Scroll down and click the Reset button.

Thanks Dalchina. Since Windows Update became available I take advantage of it and thus no longer know very much about updates and fixes. This is the first problem I've had that was caused by an update (so far as I can remember).

There's a note in Windows Update that says "Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004. The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page." So I think I will try to limp along until it's available.

Sorry, I do not know what I am doing wrong but I intended separate posts - one for OldNavyGuy and one for Dalchina. I used "Quote for Dalchina's note and then saw what I expected to see, but then when I clicked on Submit Replay the note I had typed for Dachina was appended to the note I posted to OdNavyGuy.

So this is an issue I've seen with several Microsoft Apps (old Edge and Snip & Sketch).

You need to make a copy of a file called PrintConfig.dll from C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64 (just search for it in that folder)
and then paste it in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (yeah it's just a folder in the one above, but something removed it from there)

Here is where I originally found the fix. And yes it also works on the Snip & Sketch tool.
