Driver install

Er.. the last comment was about the original problem... not my scanner's driver. There is none for that for Win 10- others have reported the same- that was a long time ago- it's an old one. (I also have a more recent Epson Perfection, meant to deal with some photos).

Thanks, there are several of these around as you know. I've tried several trying to find a suitable driver with no luck. No one reporting this problem with this scanner that I've found succeeded either.

For some reason some older scanners do become unusable with later Windows.

Vuescan (Hamrick) may have a driver for you - HP ScanJet. It is a paid program, but they have a trial period.

I've gave Vuescan a try back in the early 2000's just to see what it was about. Didn't need it since I already had a scan driver for my Nikon Scanner. Between the two I preferred the Nikon Scan software. However, that had nothing to do with performance, just personal preference. Anyway I have a license that never expires so I can get the program anytime for free.

All that said, the thing about Vuescan is the program supports a ton of scanners no longer supported, including my Nikon Coolscan 4000. In fact, because Nikon no longer supports their scanners they've even linked to Vuescan as an alternative.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying.

BTW that must be some scanner if you have to go through all that to get it working. What are you scanning that makes it not so replaceable? Especially given the age since it requires a SCSCI card.
