    how to identify which driver should be installed


    Previously I have taken backup of my all drivers by
    Code:
    dism /online /export-driver /destination:C:\drivers-backup
    They were working fine in Windows 10 Home Edition.
    and restored them as shown here.
    I now thought I should upgrade things to latest drivers.So I downloaded every thing from HP website.

    My laptop has device drivers available here

    I went on above link and downloaded all the device drivers.
    But when I try to install them then in a couple of cases I get message it is not compatible with device.

    I tried to install the drivers in BIOS
    ,audio folders from the list

    after this I thought it is better to check here rather than proceeding.
    Every thing on my system is working perfectly fine. But I am not aware which drivers are applicable on my system and which are not applicable from the list. I have every thing downloaded.

    Amended after your post that mentioned the Bios.

    That link seems to show that you have downloaded all the drivers for your model.

    I thought HP users could enter a computer serial number to narrow down the list to contain only those devices that are actually in your individual computer [when it was delivered].
    - The components within a model do change so entering your serial number is always required to get a shortlist.

    Your reported symptoms are certainly consistent with having tried to install non-applicable drivers.
    - You will not have done any damage by trying to install inappropriate hardware drivers from HP. A driver installation checks its list of "HardwareIDs" and only proceeds if it finds one of those "HardwareIDs" on your computer.
    - I would urge you to look around your computer documentation and/or the HP support site and/or the HP user forum {linked to in the HP support site} so that you know how to use your serial number to get your specific drivers in future. This will save you both time & worry.

    The Bios is a special case. Until you have found out the procedure for using your serial number to obtain only the correct downloads, I urge you not to do any more Bios updates. Trying to install an inappropriate Bios update might fail without causing any damage or might destroy your computer permanently.

    Ok I have been reading your tutorials.DISM - Add or Remove Drivers on an Offline Image I have as of now manually restored all drivers from backup by right clicking on each icon in device manager.
    My drivers are in folder
    C:\Users\koidera\arbit_user\downloaded software\15-bs0xx laptop device drivers\dism command saved drivers
    in your tutorial command 4.5 is given
    dism /Image:C:\Mount /Add-Driver /Driver:D:\Drivers /Recurse
    I wanted to know how can I execute this one to restore in this case. By doing a manual restore I think I might have missed some drivers. So I think I should restore from dism backup.

    I have now seen another thread of yours

    I think you are saying that you have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and that you do not know what to do about drivers.

    Instead of a blanket restoration [that might include some Windows 7 versions that are inappropriate], look through Device manager for
    - any entry with a warning triangle,
    - any entry called Unknown device, and
    - any entry within the Other devices group [if this group exists, it is a euphemism for 'No driver installed'].

    and just right-click on each of these specific entries and use Device manager's Update driver function instead.

    No blanket restoration is then needed or is advisable.

    If there are still errors then use the procedure I posted at
