FWIW I recommend a Brother combined mono laser printer / scanner for under £100 for routine office work and a separate photo printer for good photo colour printing - I have a Canon Pixma Pro 100. That works out cheaper for me.

It's Brother all the way for me. I use a Brother Laser MFC-L2710DW for everyday use and when I need to print color, I have a Brother MFC-J6920DW, which will print up to 11 x 17 and larger, I think. I won't use larger than 11 x 17, though. I also use after-market ink and toner.
