This was a new HP Laptop purchased from Best Buy in November 2019. I then upgraded the OS from Home to Pro with a purchase from the Microsoft Store. The original laptop had a defective key, so it was exchanged at Best Buy for another new laptop. I then contacted Microsoft Support to upgrade the OS from Home to Pro again based on my MS Store purchase.

There is no bootleg software on this machine. The OS is activated by Microsoft. I've had numerous support sessions with HP and Microsoft, and neither ever mentioned that the OS on this machine was not legit.

If it were a legitimate Microsoft Windows activation it would be OEM or retail.

KMS software was installed.

The software bypasses the activation of the software.

That is cracked software by using KMS.

I don't know what you are seeing, but I think you don't know what you are talking about.

This is a 100% legit OS on this relatively new HP Laptop.

As mentioned above, the V2 software identified a General Volume License Key in the genuine.txt file.

I asked that you download ShowKeyPlus and run it on your Product Key to confirm if it is, or isn't GVLK.

If it is, I see a couple of possibilities -

1. It was on the computer when you purchased it from Best Buy.

It could have been a refurb they purchased from a company.

2. The Microsoft Store errored when they upgraded your product from Home to Pro.

No one is accusing you of anything...just pointing out facts, and looking for an explanation.

There is also ADSI software on your system (listed in the installed software report), which is the Active Directory Services Interface. It's used in a distributed computing environment to present a single set of directory service interfaces for managing network resources.

This Laptop is not a refurb and it was Microsoft Support that performed the upgrade from Home to Pro after I purchased the Win 10 Pro upgrade from the Microsoft Store. The upgrade didn't involve installing a new program. It was just a change of the key.

Well if you think posting my MS Store records with email is a security issue, then the ShowKeyPlus will reveal the product keys. Do you think it's wise to post the product keys on this thread?

Don't post the product key, just the result.

Mine shows the current version, and the version it was upgraded from.

The Installed Key is the one you want to use in the Check product key section.

You're showing screen shots from two different versions - 2004 and 1909.

OEM keys and Installed keys are two different things.

What does the Installed Key display in the Check product key section?

I'm showing two tabs on the program. The first pic is Home, and the second pic is Upgrade.

Go ahead and post the Installed Key results, as mentioned (and demonstrated) above, for each one.
