5TB drive only showing as 561.53GB

Hi

Toshhiba 5TB X300 hard disk is only showing as 561GB is disk management.

Have tried wiping partition & reformatting - still 561GB.

Have used EaseUS Partition Master and did a quick scan for deleted partitions - still single 561GB partition

and Paragon Partition Manager 14 and did a quick scan for deleted partitions - still single 561GB partition

both show disk as 561GB

Have tried converting disk to GPT - still 561GB.

Tried Diskpart from elevated command prompt to delete the partitions and then create a primary partition - still 561GB

Currently trying AOMEI Partition Manager on a "Full" scan.

What has happened - what can I do to fix this?

What Motherboard do you have? Is it Intel based?

If so, download and run this -

Download Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant

Something about the Intel Chipset...

Accept all updates (if any) and try partitioning as GPT again.

Did you partition the entire drive as GPT?
Try to partition it in GPT then post a screen shot of "disk management."

What would you like to do with the drive?
i.e. Install W10 on it or leave as just data?

First, thanks for all of the replies.

Second, some answers.

The 5TB drive *was* the system drive in a 5 y.o. desktop (with Win 7 HP SP2) on it and, being the only drive in the system, also the data drive.

I have bought a 240GB SSD and have done a clean install of Windows 10 Pro (Version 2004). The SSD is the boot drive. The 5TB drive was to be re-formatted as a data drive, together with a separate 1TB ex-laptop hard disk to keep a backup of important files (documents/pictures/videos) using @Try3's script (which I am currently running on both my laptop and my wife's laptop - regularly backing up files automatically to a 256GB SD Card).

Currently (17:25 BST here in the UK ), AOMEI is 75% of its way through 'discovery'.

When it has finished, I'll post a screen shot (expanded columns) of Disk Management for you to peruse.

@Compumind Yes, the Mobo is Intel-based - a Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 DVI. Processor is i5-3340 Quad Core @ 3.1GHz. 8GB Ram.

Will try your solution after AOMEI has finished its scan. I have downloaded the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant ready to go.

Well a quick update.

AOMEI finished its deep scan (or whatever it is called) and found no other partitions.

I tried to run Intel Driver & Support Assistant - it tries to open Firefox (is the interface web-based?) and Firefox crashes. I try "Let windows find a solution" and that seemingly does nothing.

Back to having a 561GB drive.

I have a Linux Live on a USB stick. Next thing is to try Drew's solution and see what Linux can see.
