    Logitech MX Master 3

Simply the best Desktop wireless mouse on earth! Period!

Compared to? And the MX Master 2S is still a good mouse. That said, I'll definitely get one when I'm ready to replace the 2S.

BTW the MX 2S (and I'm quite certain the 3) work really well with the Logitech Craft keyboard.

Finally received it yesterday, started using it today.

First off, I'm liking the side textures. It's obviously just a thin layer of rubber over plastic and yet I'm liking this a lot better than whatever Corsair is doing (the Glaive mentioned in my OP is my fourth Corsair mouse, the other ones I had, the side rubber has been destroyed by just regular use).

However, I was immediately annoyed at the fact that the wheel doesn't have a middle mouse button, it has a push-in for the wheel to either roll free or ratcheted. So I need to use the little button right behind as the MMB, which is somewhat inconveniently placed. I guess I happen to be one of the few who actually makes extensive use of it.

Other than that, it's finally nice to have those side buttons. I really missed them :P

Sounds like you didn't install the Logitech Options software or didn't look to see what options are available for the button customizations....

Here's the MX Anywhere Wheel options...

    The MX 2S wheel options...

I have both, plus the Logitech Craft keyboard...

Also, on the bottom of the mouse you'll notice a button allowing you to switch between 3 channels. This allows the mouse to be paired with up to 3 devices. Both mine are to set to work on both my desktop and laptops. Channel 1 will always be assigned to the first device you paired the mouse with.

    Hope this helps

BTW I'm curious why you got the MX Anywhere, which is basically a laptop mouse over the MX 2S?
It popped up the install prompt as soon as I plugged the dongle in, I did install it.

What I'm saying is, pressing on the wheel isn't a button, it activates/deactivates the ratchet for the wheel. The MMB has to become the button right below.

As for why the Anywhere 2S over one of the Masters? Cost. Pure and simple. I got it for 60 CAD$. None of the Masters are below 100 - 130 CAD$, which I mentioned in my OP.

Choose one of the other options instead of "Middle Button" and see what you get for other options.

You're misunderstanding me here. I want a MMB. I need one. I use that button at least 10x more than the right click.

What I'm saying is, the wheel isn't the MMB like other traditional mice.

Well it seems the option you're looking for isn't on that mouse.

    Good luck.

If you don't use left scroll remap that as middle button. I find that easier to use than the scroll wheel middle button on my M705 anyway.

    @kado897,

Out of curiosity is the M705 using the Logitech Options or Setpoint software? Can't seem to find that info online. I'm sure I'm missing it, but...
