Well, the post was directed at @olat, whose thread this is, and who has a t440, not a t450.

    Hello!

I know this is VERY old, but I wanted to update it just in case somebody with the same (or similar) laptop model has the same issue.

This is how I solved the issue on my Laptop:

    1. Press Win+S together and let the Taskbar search appear.
    2. In the Search Box type Regedit.
    3. Right click on the Registry Editor and start as Admin.
    4. If UAC prompt appears, enter your credentials and click on the Yes button.
    5. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows media foundation\Platform
    6. Move to the right pane, right click and select New DWORD (32-bit) Value.
    7. Name this value: EnableFrameServerMode
    8. Right click on the created value and select Modify.
    9. Set the value to 0 (zero) and click on the OK button.
    10. Restart your PC.
    11. Your webcam should be working now.

I've reinstalled Windows several times on this machine and these steps have worked every single time.

Thank you all for your help!

    Hi,
I am new in this forum but very thankful because I tried the suggestion from olat to make a change in the Registry. My wife was not able to participate in Zoom meetings with her face as the camera in her Lenovo T440s, 3-4 y old, did not start. It did not work with any apps or by testing with the laptop alone. I checked all camera settings, drivers etc but nothing worked out. But after finding this thread this is hopefully solved for the future.
Months ago the camera was working and what could be the reason for the sudden malfunction. An update or something else? Once more, thanks.

Hello Anders! Thank you for your feedback!

To be honest, the camera on my laptop only worked a few times after installing Windows, so I guess it's some kind of driver conflict, but I was not able to resolve it up until I tried the steps above.

I have no idea what causes this, but I'm happy if my steps helped you in any sort of way!
