    Hardware error - Live Kernel Event Code 3000040


    I just have a new PC and for few days running smoothly (Windows 10 Pro)

    But in the last few days, I got twice of BSOD - Driver Power State Failure
    Then, I checked on Reliability history and found there are so many hardware error shown, literally every day this error were shown:

    Hi,
    The bugcheck indicate that's a problem related to the REALTEK Wireless driver. Try to update this driver.

    1) Update the specs in the "My Computer" section:

    System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums
    In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'.
    After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.
    System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums

    Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)


    2) Upload V2 directly into this thread:

    Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I know it's a silly question, but which driver needs to be updated? I have TP LINK Wireless adapter, and the only one shown on my device manager with realtek is realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller. Is this the one? It's already updated

    TP Link WN881ND, V2 of that Wireless Card has a RealTek chipset.
    Obviously research that yourself as a check.

    Some of these Wireless Cards do not have the full range of power saving modes so I would go to:
    Settings > Power Options > Additional power settings > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > Wireless Adapter settings.
    Expand that to Power saving Mode.
    Probably set that to Maximum Performance in which case no power saving mode is used.

    I would not worry too much about the Reliability log, the report has been sent to MS and you may get an update thru Windows updates at some later point.
    You have no warning yellow triangle or anything in the Device Manager.

    The BSOD is likely to be something else, like complications from overclocking activities and the like.

    The logs displayed many BSOD and kernel events.


    1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
    8) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 7
    9) wmic recoveros get autoreboot
    10) wmic recoveros get DebugInfoType
    11) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

    12) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    13) Uninstall:
    Driver Booster 7 7.5.0 IObit

    14) Uninstall any drivers that were installed using Driver Booster > reinstall using the MSI website and if not displayed use the component manufacturer websites.

    15) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings

    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery window into the thread

    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > on the performance options window > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory window into the thread

    16) Open Ccleaner > click windows tab or custom clean > scroll down to system and advanced > post an image into the thread

    17) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting

    18) Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce BSOD

    24) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    chkdsk /r /v
    This may take hours to run so plan to run overnight.
    Run on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /r /v C: or chkdsk /r /v D: changing the drive letter to the applicable drive.

    C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /r /v
    The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

    Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
    process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
    checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

    Type: Y
    reboot


    25) Use the information in this link to find the chkdsk report in the event viewer.
    Copy and paste into notepad > save to desktop > post into the thread using one drive or drop box share link:

    26) These steps / tests can be performed overnight:
    a) HD Tune full error scan
    b) Sea Tools long generic test
    c) Chkdsk /r /v

    27) For any BSOD:

    a) run the V2 log collector to collect new log files

    b) open file explorer> this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
    > if the file size is < 1.5 GB then zip > post a separate share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

    1) For CCleaner, do I need to run Cleaner / Analyse for this options? Or just showed it?

    2) My wireless adapter driver is now dated 10/22/2018 I got it automatically from windows by uninstalling the previous driver and let the windows automatically downloaded it.
    But before, I used the driver from the corresponding manufacturer (TP-LINK) which dated 02/07/2019 (Download untuk TL-WN881ND | TP-Link Indonesia)
    And after I Browse the REALTEK website, they have a driver dated 5/26/2019.(Download Realtek RTL8188EE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC drivers for Windows 10 x64)

    So which one I need to be downloaded?
