Need advise I want to install a 128GB SSD in my desktop
Will it work is it worth it also is it hard to install

128GB is a little on the small size but if this is a machine that you surf and email on it should be sufficient. Just. SSD like a little room so I wouldn't fill it pass 80GB.
The physical installation is usually quite painless. You need the drive, an adapter to hold a 2.5 inch drive in a 3.5" desktop bay and a couple of screws. Likely they will come with 3.5 inch to 2,5 inch adapter.
If this is the only drive then you can reuse Sata data cable and power cable.
If you are also going to keep old HDD for bulk storage you very likely need a Sata Cable. You will have to open box and see where Sata ports are on Motherboard and how far it is to drive bay.
Opening box is a good idea just to make sure you have empty bay.
Now for power, you have to check your wiring harness. Is there is a plug in reach to connect and is it the right connector? You may need an adapter from male Molex to Female Sata
That is the physical installation, now to the more complex task, software.
You could clean install on the SSD or you could backup HDD and restore to SSD. This is a little trickier as HDD is likely bigger than 128GB.
How comfortable are you with clean installs?
Is it worth it??
Just about any machine will benefit from an SSD. Going with an SSD and ensuring you have at least 8GB of memory are the two best upgrades anyone can make, in my opinion.

What type of SSD am i looking for saw some on e-BAY Do i leave the other HD active to copy my stuff to the new SSD

I've done three HD to SSD upgrades using Samsung EVO 860 SDD's.
Samsung includes dedicated cloning software that makes cloning your existing HD to the SDD painless.

also how do i put what is on my HD to my SSD

One slightly scary feature of the Samsung cloning software is that it blanks the source drive. (https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws...._ENG_v.4.0.pdf)
I don't recall that feature from when I last used that software a couple of years ago, but the manual states it clearly.

If this is really for an Optiplex 755, which version do you have?
It matters because the mini-tower version seems to have 4 SATA ports. The destop version has 3, the small form factor 2, and the ultra small form factor, only one. I hope that you don't have the USFF model. (https://www.dell.com/downloads/globa..._techspecs.pdf)
If you have a model with at least one free SATA port, you connect the SSD to that, just like any regular SATA hard drive. (It'd be a 2.5" size, though, commonly used in laptops.) You do the software cloning thing, disconnect the old HDD, and there you are. If you don't have a free SATA port, you'd need an external USB adapter. They're inexpensive.
128GB may be a bit small if it's the only drive on the system, but if you aren't keep any significant amount of data on it, it would be adequate.
One suggestion: Crucial BX500 2.5" 240GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT240BX500SSD1 - Newegg.com You wouldn't save much money by going smaller.
Crucial uses a version of Acronis True Image software. I've been using a paid version of that for years. I like it, but it's not as easy to use as some.

I've used Samsung migration and never had source erase. From their manual.
Walley thanks to bobkn's research you now know that your PC only supports one storage drive. So it will be just the SSD.
As such all the intrnal cabling you need is present, one Sata data cable and one Sata power cable.
How big is your current HDD and how much free space do you have?
