    Printer detected but not printing

    Hi,

Printer says is connected, trouble shoot does not find any issues, drivers are updated, I have un-installed and re-installed several (8-9) times. I can't print a test page from the computer but I can from the printer. I can scan to the computer as well. There are no error messages in both the PC and the printer so I can't find the miss communication.

I have cleared the print spool as well and nothing seems to work.

    Windows 10 version 1909 (OS build 18363.900)

    Thanks

I'm trying to deal with exactly the same issue with a Brother MFC-J615w, USB connection.
Windows Version 1903 Build 18363.900 Home and Windows Version 2004 Build 19645.1 Pro on different computers, Sony Vaio Notebook [clients] and Dell Inspiron Desktop [mine]. The Version 2004 is an Insider Preview. Everything works except the print, hardware seems okay with Copying, print job flashes and shows in the Queue momentarily but goes nowhere. Printer set as default.

This fixes the issue => Printer doesn't work anymore after the last Windows update

It's part of the cumulative update for v1903 and v1909. Here is the official link . . .

    KB4567512 CU Win 10 v1903 build 18362.904 and v1909 build 18363.904

    I hope this helps

Apparently the issue is KB4560960, I can't remove that update but later I found that the issue is supposedly fix on update kb4567512, however is not an automatic update and when I try manually to install it, I get the error message that this update is not applicable to my computer.

I have done the CMD prompt: Scannow, I also repaired thru CMD using the cleanup-image /restorehealth commands and everything seems to be fine. I also tried troubleshooting windows update and making changes to region but nothing. I can't install this update.

    Thanks

Yes, the issue was KB4560960, did you not read the thread I posted where we were dealing with the issue?

That is strange because I know there is a problem if you have 32-bit [ x86 ] download from MS Catalog dowsn't appear to work on v1909 [ Build 18363.900 ]. I think that I saw a solution that it does however work on v2004 [ Build 19041.329 ] and then installing KB4567523.

    I hope this helps!

I just fixed by going back to build 1909, in my desperation to fix it, I updated to the new 2004 build and when trying to install KB4567523 it would not allow it, so I went back to 1909 and installed KB4567523 and all fixed. However I wanted to check after installing KB4567523 I could go to the new build without issues and a big NOPE. As soon as I switched to build 2004 again my printer stopped working. So I went back to 1909 and it all works well again. I guess I will wait a while before moving to the new build.

Thanks a lot for all your help Paul, You correctly pointed me to the solution!
