Initialize Hard drive
Hi all,
A friend of mine asked me if I can help him get his laptop back into working order.
It is a Samsung model NP740U3L
When I turn it on, after about a minute, it tells me:
All boot option tried
Press F4 for repair
After pressing F4 it comes back to the same screen as above.
So I booted with macrium and selected fix boot problem. Then I noticed that there was no drive listed.
Then I clicked on “Command prompt” and entered disk part and after few moments I saw that the drive was unallocated. After a quick surge I found out that the drive was not initialized.
So I took it out of the laptop and attached it to my desktop and clicked on disk management and was told that it needed to be initialized and selected MBR. After a few seconds I get a popup telling me:
Data error cyclic redundancy check
It will not initialize.
Anything else I can try to get this drive back?
There are pictures and Documents on it that he would like to keep, is there a way to get them off?
Thanks for any help
Sven
