Problem with formatting HDD

Hello, I have a problem with formatting HDD.

I have 2 disks: SSD (C: with Windows) and HDD. I wanted to back up and format files from HDD. I did the slow format with the default settings of NTFS etc., but finally the message "Windows could not finish formatting" popped up. When trying to open the disk: "D: \ is not available.The request failed because of a critical hardware error. "
I noticed that the file system has changed to RAW, but I don't know how to change to NTFS.
I can't format it second time, errors pop up.

I would be very grateful for help.

Raw means it had no paritions try creating a partition then format

Thank you for the info.

"Raw" means a corrupted drive or unknown FS, such as a Linux partition. I suggest that you reconnect your drive and try again.
