    Time for more detailed troubleshooting.

What symptoms do you see? Are there any faults shown in device manager? Any messages in the event logs? Is anything in your system not functioning properly?

Could it have been a one-time hiccup? What were doing when the error happened and was there any interruption to what you were doing at the time?

What’s the make& model of the PC?
Have you checked for those drivers on the manufacturer’s website?

Did the PC come with a driver install disc? If so then you may have to check for drivers there.

Do you get any yellow excalmation marks in Device Manager?

At a guess, you need motherboard chipset drivers. The Optiplex 755 (from 2008) uses the Intel Q35 chipset. Intel's support for things that old ended some time ago. Maybe you could try the Vista drivers from 2013. (https://www.dell.com/support/home/en...ex-755/drivers) If they don't install, try intsalling in compatibility mode. If that doesn't work, you may be able to do a manual install.
