Laptop won’t boot up off of new cloned SSD

I have a dell inspiron 15 5570 laptop. I decided to replace the RAM and the HDD. I bought a crucial 1TB MX500 2.5 SSD to use. I cloned over everything fine and that’s all good. My laptop is recognising the drive when it is plugged in through a USB. However when I take out the old HDD and replace it with the new SSD, I start up my laptop and it says no bootable devices found. I have looked Through so many videos and things trying to help but nothing is working. It cost a lot of money and I don’t want to break something. Anyone know how to help? Thank you

Did you clone the whole drive or just c and what did you use. Is it mbr or gpt uefi disk?

I cloned the whole drive using Macrium Reflect. I used a UGreen hard drive external enclosure to usb. And how would I check if it’s a mbr or gpt uefi disk?

You can only tell the disk type by puting old drive in and post a screen shot of disk manager.

Is the ssd set to sata3 and adhi in the bios was the old drive a normal spiner driver.

You could boot from an install usb or dvd and try repair

I’ll find out what disk type it is now

And in the bios it’s set to Raid. And when I change it the HDD can’t boot up. And the old drive is a normal spinner driver.

I don’t have a repair usb or dvd I’m afraid. I might have an empty USB thought

Ok, there may be 2 issues.

    1. The fact that you're running your configuration as RAID
    2. Some external USB enclosures don't map the drive addresses correctly.

For number 1 I'm a bit uncertain. But for number 2 I have an example. I have a Icydock dual docking station. If I create a partition on a drive connected to the dock and later move the drive to a SATA-port, the partitions won't get recognized correctly. Same if I go the other way. But If I use another enclosure (Inateck brand), everything works flawlessly.

Best course of action would be to connect both drives to another computer using SATA ports and then do a 1:1 clone.

The disk 0 (OS (C:)) is my internal 1TB HDD and the disk 1 (OS (D:)) is the new 1TB SSD connected through USB

Oh ok, sorry i'm not very clever with this stuff but hat do you mean by SATA ports. would that mean i have to buy another external usb enclosure and if so wich would you reccomend

Oh ok thankyou. yeh i understand what you mean now.
Should i try changing it to not be RAID when the SSDs in?
