Have you tried to create a secondry user to that same installation?

The problem may lie within the audio files themselves. Like corrupt ringtones

Disable all audio output to all notifications. Goto,

    'Apps and notifications'
    'Configure notifications'

    'Notifications'
    'Off for __ apps'

This will hopefully help you more in your investigation

That seems to be a bit of a nightmare! I will check to see if anything like that is happening with mine, as it is still not ringing. I don't get many calls on my mobile yet but expect I will soon. The Shouter app and Caller.Live app have been useful in notifying me as calls arrive, but only if the phone is in the same room as me.

i know you've said you have many apps installed, but do you really need them?
If your phone is still having problems after 3 weeks, i'd say back up your photos, files etc and factory restore it, once its restored, try phoning you're mobile without any other apps installed, if it still has the problem then it's hardware

Does not Safe Mode show whether the problems is with apps? I have tried phoning myself via landline with the mobile in Safe Mode but the ringer still does not ring. Also the 2 apps I referred to earlier let me down, they stopped working so I missed several calls. So I installed another CALLER NAME ANNOUNCER (there are others with the same name, a dumb feature with Android surely?). It is working well so far, and in addition to spoken announcements it has its own ringer --------not one I would have chosen, but does the job).
