I must disagree. There would be no 2 GB RAM gain. The 2 GB is reserved by the hardware for graphics use. That has no relation to the mismatched RAM speeds. All the mismatched RAM speeds are causing is that the PC4-21300 RAM is running at the slower speed of the PC4-17000 RAM. I have a similar mismatch in my laptop - 1 16GB PC4-19200 and 1 16 GB PC4-17000, and it has no effect other than the faster ram stick running at a slower speed.

It would be a waste of money for @Tonyb to buy another stick of RAM to just match the speeds. The correct answers were given in posts #5 and #4. There is nothing wrong with the system.

How were you able to determine that the 2 GB was reserved for GPU?
How can you determine whether 2GB can or cannot be recaptured without swap testing RAM?

There was another thread in the past few months which had mismatched RAM.
When matched RAM was used the reserved changed from GB to MB.

oops my bad here you go @Megahertz Attachment 280191
Tonyb, you still didn't give me the memory specs I want.

You have to put the mouse over memory - Row 1 (left panel) so the memory specs shows on the right panel.

To make a match pair of the fastest memory (DDR4 2666), you can replace the stick on row 0 with a stick equal to row 1

I highly doubt there would be any noticeable difference in doing so, though.

You're right, but there will be a difference (25%)
All computer manuals recommends equal memory sticks.
Some chipsets / CPUs don't allow dual channel if memory sticks has different speeds or timings.
It will cost US$52 and the other stick you can sell for half (US$26)
