Holy crap - fantastic! Thank you.

I'm right about to do the last 5TB - I have a feeling it's gonna look like the rest. As for the 8TB.......I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm not so sure my old single dock station will be able to do as much as 8......and I really don't want to put anything else in the Sabrent until I know where the trouble is coming from. I've already had to redo on of the 5Tb's, and I'm gonna have to redo and reformat one of the other 5's to because I just can't seem to get it to show the other folder with 2TB's in it. So I can't use that one the way it stands now. Even though I have everything backed up, I don't have everything backed up as much as I'd like because of having to redo these........and the 8TB is completely brand new.....and I'm fairly (kinda) sure that the only error I received from it was the initial "this HD needs to be formatted" error, and I don't think there was anything after that. I may just have to give it some blind faith here, especially considering everything else has looked good so far.

    Here's the last 5TB.

    So what would be next?

    Generally maintain temperatures < 50.
See what you can do to maintain lower temperatures.

The temps were only high because I was using the single docking station that has no fan - I don't use that dock. The Sabrent has a fan and the temps do not reach a high level.

But the problems are still going to be there. I was trying to see if anyone knew how to solve them. I thought we may have just been doing a process of elimination thing. I appreciate the help, I really sincerely do, but I'm still at square one. I guess I'll just have to purchase another Sabrent and cross my fingers, I really don't know what else I can do but that. If it has something to do with Windows I'll never figure it out. I don't know if this is out of your area of expertise, I'll google it myself also, but do you know if a NAS storage bypasses everything Windows, just in the worst case scenario if the new Sabrent is still screwing with things.

Backup all important data to another drive or the cloud.
If you have drive problems you'll have recovery options.
For any future drive problems you've got recent test results that can be used for comparison.

    Long generic tests
    SMART
    Benchmarks
    Surface/error scans
    Chkdsk

Ok, thanks. And big big thanks for the upgraded Sentinel, I just installed it last night! As for a solution to what's going on, well, I really don't know. Before I re-buy another Sabrent I'm gonna google some info on a NAS setup. Something has to work, I can't keep losing TB's of data everytime I turn on a hard drive.

Consider upgrading to the May 2020 windows version:
(support assistant or in place upgrade repair)
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

(only have one drive connected (windows drive) during the upgrade)

    You're welcome.

NAS is nice. Little pricey when you get up into the bigger storage volumes with redundancy.

Yeah, I've been reading about NAS & Raid the last couple of days. I don't think I need Raid, but the NAS looks interesting. I don't understand all I'm reading and I really want to get these HD's up & running again. If I can't make a decision in the next day or two, I'll just repurchase the Sabrent and cross my fingers. 40 bucks won't bankrupt me and then I can take my time trying to understand more about these NAS enclosures. I'll ask you a similar question as I asked zbook.......here's an excerpt from an article online:

"A NAS device (aka NAS server) is very similar to an external drive. But instead of connecting to a computer directly, it connects to a network and offers storage space to all devices on the network at the same time."

The instead of connecting to a computer directly part.....do you know if that means it'll bypass any windows settings that may or may not be screwing with my HD's?? If you don't know that's fine. I still think it could've been something in the Sabrent chain, which I may know soon enough. I also just rollbacked Win 1909 to 1809. Was kinda nervous about that but it went smoothly. I only had 1909 for the last couple of weeks and it had totally messed up a 3rd party file explorer that I use, and I REALLY wanted to continue using that specific one, so I figured a bonus would be if it helped with this problem, the better for it. Buys me some more time atleast.

Oh my motherf#$#%$#ing god!!! I literally just finished writing my post 5 minutes ago and put in a thumb drive and was transferring some files to it, left the room, came back to a "this file cannot be found at this location" error. And sure enough the thumb drive had been booted off. Here's the thing, the Sabrent has never been hooked up to the ports on the front like the thumb drive just was. Any wisdom??? I'm sorry, I know you guys dig computers but %$@%$#^^&%#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna kick someone's dog right now, lol. Jesus, I'm just drained right now.
