According to post 14, that won't do.

    You need F40 or better.
I see that version. But it comes with a caveat. You have to have EC FW Update tool, which according to the forums.gigabyte.com, it comes with a lot of grief. But I'm gonna install the firmware, first, with it, and hope if it doesn't work, that I can remove it. I'm still reading. Thanks for the help.

I can't even find the download for the installer. What is this?

    Are you on this page?

    Processor upgrade-gigabyte.jpg

B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

It says (at F40) that you need to "Update AGESA 1.0.0.2 for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ CPU full support"
So you need to do that to use your new processor.

I've never seen a BIOS update process so convoluted as this one. You will need to first install BIOS F32,
Then: "Before update BIOS to F40, you have to install EC FW Update Tool (B19.0517.1 or later version)"
    Then update AGESA
    Then install F40
Then upgrade AGESA again (Maybe you could just jump to 1.0.0.4 B all at once)
    Then install F50

I can see why you are reluctant. That is nuts. But, if you want to use that processor......

Your chipset should also be updated to the latest:
    "AMD Chipset Driver
    (Note) Win10 ver.1903 supported.
(Note) For 3rd AMD Ryzen CPU support."
The chipset on that page has an installer package.

In general, all your drivers from that page should be up to date.

Word to the wise: get some sleep.
Working on a BIOS update, particularly one as F'd up as that one, should be done well rested and not under stress.
Get some rest and come at it fresh and with a plan.

I sure hope not! Me and Newegg had a problem with that with another CPU. They said I damaged it trying to install it. The CPU was obviously not the CPU for my board so I never took it out of the protector. They had someone at their place fat-finger the thing try to "inspect it" so I had to eat that one.(And it still doesn't fit anything I got.

Telling you that, I have to tell you how I ended up with it in the first place. I ordered the AORUS B450 Pro WiFi board, Vengence 2 X 8 GB, 16 GB of memory, and they had the "Customers who bought that board also bought... this CPU, and a bunch of other stuff, so I guessed hat it was compatible. Never looked at the socket type, and so, I bit, and ended up getting choked on it.

There, I got it out. Dumb huh? OK....

Don't know either. I'd have to look at the manual. But, there are three display ports, VGA, HDMI and DVI-I. I have three on it as we speak.
The GT 710 is UEFI enabled.

    Sorry, I misunderstood.
The AGESA updates are in the BIOS. It is not a separate chore.
But you do still need to go to do the rest of the dance.

That is the page. And I said the same thing, even not knowing what I was seeing! That is a lot of something for something else's something! But your sequence, I think I can follow. Gigabyte would've had me spinning in the breeze, and eventually, just staying with this Ryzen 3 2200. But all of this was employed because I need better video output streaming. I know the 5 3600 is a cheap way to edit with quality, but I think it outputs better than the "3" as well.

Also, I am looking at upgrading my graphics card to an MSI Radeon RX 570 DirectX 12 RX 570 ARMOR 8G OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card. I hope it doesn't require an act of congress to make it function too!

Yes, just map it out, Step 1, step 2, step 3... and take your time.
I suggest reading any instructions for flashing the BIOS beforehand, best source: your printed manual.

Does the Gigabyte BIOS allow you to flash from within the BIOS using a USB thumb drive? That is the best way to do it. I've never felt comfortable with Windows based flash utilities or anything using online methods.

Probably not. I can't see why they would make that any easier. I'll get to looking to find out.

I was wrong, again. https://www.gigabyte.com/webpage/20/...flash_uefi.pdf describes making a thumb drive install technique.

So, do I just download the F50 when using the thumb drive, or do I still need to go in steps up to the F50?

According to Gigabyte, you have to:

    Update the BIOS to F32.

Run the EC FW update utility. (It's in the "utility" section of the downloads. Too bad they didn't include a link to it from the BIOS page.) B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE U.S.A. Its version number is B19.0606.1, which is more recent than the one given in the instructions for F40.

Then you can update to F50 directly.

What was up with your earlier link (Utility | Service / Support - GIGABYTE Global) ? That was for an Intel board. Nothing to do with your B450 motherboard.

You know what? I think I saw that, and intended to delete it, but forgot to. Thanks.
