    Which Web Cam

Which web cam do people recommend for reliable operation with Windows 10 under £50. Logitech models seem to get good reviews.

Logitech was always a good choice and I never had any issue with it (except when Windows 10 Camera app was unable to use it initially...).

However, it's not a good moment for such purchase, methinks:

Mad dash for webcams with surge in videoconferencing has turned out rather nicely for Logitech • The Register

Webcams – like toilet paper and disinfectant wipes – have become an increasingly scarce commodity since the start of the pandemic(...).

Much like the aforementioned toilet paper and cleansing wipes, which are slowly returning to supermarket shelves, webcams have fallen victim to a spate of price gouging from entrepreneurial third-party sellers.

Logitech's basic HD webcam, the C270, is perhaps the best example of this. The tech staple typically costs $25 in the US. During normal times, it's sold for as little as £12 on Amazon UK, according to data from CamelCamelCamel. But immediately after the start of the nationwide lockdowns in the US and UK, some eBay sellers were asking for as much as $130.
As I'm thinking about upgrading my otherwise and also in a great working order Webcam Pro 9000 to Brio, I am giving it a miss for the time being as prices I'm seeing and general lack of availability matches what El Reg reports.

I'm having to get one for work meetings. I've been looking at the Logitech C922 although I think thats a bit out of your price range. Could you save up a bit more?

if you buy Logitech you need to be aware that the tech support is extremely weak to say the least
    good product,real bad support

by the way it used to not be that way
    but things change

I'm using C270 (Logitech). Have it for almost 7-8 years. Only 720 HD picture, but reliable, and good mic. You can still get one, but guess, newer models could get more pixels.

    Oh, support? You have Tenforums

"Oh, support? You have Tenforums", very true!

It's amazing but a lot of the Logitech webcams are sold out on Amazon Uk.

Guys, you know that you can use your smartphone for webcam? And picture is far better than old cameras, and mic is better too

If you're buying for this crisis only... pandemic is almost over, at least this wave

DroidCam is free, and suitable app. Just prepare to put your smartphone on charger while streaming

That looks like a good solution since I only need a webcam infrequently

Two people on the zoom meeting yesterday used phones, one had constant problems trying to connect.
