    C: drive not on on disk 0 but on DIsk 2..Is that a problem?

    Setting up a new desktop computer for the 1st time (and also adding an old HDD that didn't work) I have 3 drives. The main drive, which is a nVme SSD, and where my OS is (Windows 10) somehow, according to what I see under Computer Management, ended up on DIsk 2, my secondary normal SSD on Disk 1 and Now my newly added HDD Sata on DIsk 0.
    Shouldn't the OS which is on C: be on disk 0 and not 2? Is this problematic in any way? And can it be changed without causing problems or without a new install of Win10?

    Win 10 latest version (can't give you the exact version number since the computer in question is running tests and I am writing to you form my laptop)

    This is not problem. It depends on how the Bios sees the drives and puts it in that order. What matters is the Boot order in the Bios. As long as Windows Boot Manager recognizes the m.2 NVME drive as First Boot device, then that is what it will boot from.

    It's normal.
    Most computers list SATA drivers first an then M.2 drive.
    It doesn't make any difference on the way the computer work.

    This process is disk enumeration.

    It should not be a problem.

    Pretty sure the drive order is down to the SATA/ AHCI driver while in Windows regardless of BIOS/UEFI reporting (and at least on UEFI systems), my drive order was similar to yours, SSD was disk 0, HDD was disk 1, NVME was disk 3 (with Windows, and as boot drive), but installing the Intel RST driver for SATA/AHCI controller and the Intel NVME driver the order changed to reflect the physical order of disk connections.
    So now it looks like this;
    C: drive not on on disk 0 but on DIsk 2..Is that a problem?-drivelist01.png

    This is also reflected in Diskpart (run in admin command);

    Currently my USB boot disks are being re-written so unsure how the drive order would appear listed from outside windows.
