M.2 Socket (Optane memory) Question.

My drive came in the mail this morning. When I first opened up my computer I couldn't find the old drive. It was hidden under my graphics card. The only pain was getting the tiny screw back in. I used a little Vaseline on the screw head so it would stick to the screwdriver. I now have a extra 500GB SSD. I still need to install the updated Samsung driver. Then I need to decide if I want it to be my OS drive or a data drive. From what I have read the increased speed isn't really noticeable. Either way I will probable remove the HDD I use for my data drive and use it as a external backup drive.

I almost forgot to thank every that helped me to know that I could replace the (Useless to me) small NVMe drive with a larger drive.

Yeah someone will come up with some cosmic "what ifs", still...

My boot drive is a SSD and the NVMe drive is supposed to be faster. I have my backup images so I have nothing to lose if I give it a try.

I'm restoring a image to the NVMe drive. When done I'll install Magician and check.

I'd say that's quite clearly illustrated in my benchmark above. BTW, I had my usual dozen or so apps open with a heap of browser tabs. I wasn't aiming for Gold.

I couldn't get my computer to boot from the NVMe drive. I'm hoping that it was because I changed the location of the C: drive partition to the end. I shrank the C: drive partition in MiniTools Partition Wizard so I could keep the same order of the partitions. When the new image is finished being restored to the NVMe drive I'll try again.

Edit: I forgot I replaced my 500GB drive with a 1TB drive.
