    Cannot update Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth Driver

    I cannot turn on my PC Bluetooth to connect to my LG HBS780 headphones or any other Bluetooth audio device. The PC is a Dell desktop running Win 10 (Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363). All Dell diagnostics say everything is up to date, but the Qualcomm driver is not working. I have downloaded the newer driver from Dell, deleted the older driver, etc, but it continues to go back to the older driver with the status "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

    The Bluetooth on/off switch is missing in the bluetooth settings and I assume the Qualcomm driver is the cause.

    Thanks for any help.

    I use some of these IOGEAR Bluetooth [lower-priced] dongles:
    IOGEAR :: Networking Solutions
    The main thing to consider is that frequently Bluetooth will be part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter and can only be turned off/disabled in Device Manager without affecting the Wireless.

    Are you saying that I can use a dongle to connect my LG HBS780 headphones to my PC - and not use the internal bluetooth?

    It's possible, some folks have had success but others have had issues with Bluetooth headsets and speakers but I can't recall any specific brands. I use Bluetooth mice with several of my Notebooks, most are Targus but have one Microsoft.

    Can't tell from the information in your "My Computer" data but it may require replacing the Wireless Adapter which may also have the Bluetooth part. I have a couple of Notebooks that would need it but cheaper to use the dongle.
