Problem with device not recognised need to try under windows 7

I have a Problem with a device not recognised ( in device manager bt not recognised by the software ) need to try under windows 7( Elgato capture HD ) thought i could try under windows 7, is there a way of running windows 7 as a dual boot, with windows 10 already installed, run from a USB pen or virtual OS ? which is my best otption ? been told i can create a windows to go windows 7 pen, but the host hard drives are not available, so i assume also the internet etc....so wouldnt be able to install the Elgato software or drivers to the usb pen.

    Advice please

    thanks

Your text is not clear enough, so:
is your device visible in device manager without yellow mark?
did the software install without error?
In case of 2x yes, did you give access in the privacy settings?

To determine the installed version press the key combination of the Windows key + the R key, type winver and press Enter, will give the Version and Build number.
    Example:

Does that mean, I should upgrade, to help elgato ?

someone in a forum said to NOT install the elgato drivers and use windows built in drivers....for a similar problem.....can I simply remove the old drivers completely through device manager or do I need to go deeper ?

It's usually wise to run the latest as some problems may have been fixed.

Removing a device should work but frequently one should also Uninstall any and all software associated with it.
