raid 2 m.2 NVME drives as one using a pcie adapter and NOT loose speed

i am looking to get two m.2 NVME drives and put them in a adapter to merge them as one (a HW raid if you will) i see adapters like this here but im wondering isn't that switching from NVME to sata 3? will i go to sata 3 speed if i use this adapter or similar?

    my motherboard is a
    gigabyte aorus x570 with a 3950x

the two m.2's i am looking into are 3,200MBps

What I understood is that if you install M.2 SSD (B key) you have to use the SATA cable+Connector.
It doesn't say that you can do a RAID array with it.

xdarkmario, cards like the one you linked to have only single NVMe slot. The other slot is reserved for M.2 SATA (not NVMe) type drives only. You would need either a card that has 2 NVMe slots, or two seperate cards that each have an NVMe slot.

Here is a card that can handle 4 NVMe drives:

EDIT: Doesn't look like it likes my Amazon link. In any case, do a search for something like "dual nvme pcie adapter".

Read descriptions carefully to make sure all slots support NVMe (M Key) cards.

well im not getting THAT specific one but using it for reference , i need a dual M.2 slot 2280.
im also trying to stack the memory capability and not the speed raid 0 striping

    I think this one could serve: JEYI iHyper m.2 X16 TO 4X NVME PCIE3.0 GEN3 X16 TO 4*NVME RAID CARD PCI-E VROC CARD RAID Hyper M.2X16 M2X16 4X X4 NVME*4 RAID - Newegg.com

Sadly, it has 4 NVME slots. It also ships from China, so I don't know how long it might take to arrive.

You just want to get something like a JBOD RAID? Why? Aren't 2TB M.2 SSDs large enough for you? (They're expensive, I admit.)

thanks for that link, as for my space. my 2.5TB rotational Drives are just about full now, i do just about everything there is to do with a PC lol. 4k video editing, photo editing, 3d animation sound production and not to mention PC gaming so i EAT through space, and these rotational drives are painfully slow. i might do a 2TB and a 1 TB NVME for 3Tb (maybe)

If it was me, I'd probably just throw a 2TB M.2 card in your motherboard's second M.2 slot. I might also replace the boot SSD with a larger one. If I was flush with cash, I'd make them both PCI-E 4.0 versions to exploit your X570/ 3950X.

    PCI-Express 3.1 x4, PCI-Express 3.0 x4, M.2 2280, 1.2TB+, PCI-Express 4.0 x4, Internal SSDs, SSDs, Components - Newegg.com

For my own use, I feel profligate enough that my boot SSD is a 1TB PCI-E 4.0 M2 drive from Sabrent. It benches at about 5GB/s sequential read, which isn't bad.

Heck, if I was feeling flusher, I'd go with a Threadripper 3960X and an sTRX4 motherboard. You may need new RAM as well, to get quad channel. The CPU and motherboard together could be had for less than $2k US. I suppose that the 3990x might be too pricey.
