    Trackball recommendation

Sorry if this is an inappropriate place to post this but can anyone recommend a trackball that will actually last more than a few months? I've gone through a number of Logictech M570s and Kensington Orbit trackballs. I really like both of them while they're working but after a while the M570'a trackball becomes unresponsive and the Kensington's left button stops working. They're both relatively inexpensive but I don't mind paying more for one that will last.

From another old MainFrame guy(cut my teeth on a Model 30 in 1966), I would recommend a Logitech M470 model. I've been using them for over 15 years. Their wireless and the battery (1 AA type) lasts a long time.

Hi Storageman. I think you're an older mainframe guy; I only go back to an IBM S/370 145 in 1973. I can't find any reference to Logitech M470; if I search for it, Google returns M570 which in my experience has proven to be a disposable trackball. Logitech has their MX series but they're quite expensive and I'm not convinced they'll last any longer. Time to check the reviews on Amazon...

Let me apologize - Its actually a M570, link here -> Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Designed for Comfort & Long Battery-Life

PS: By 1970 we also got one of those S/370 145. It also was a good machine.

You're having far better luck with that trackball than I am; they're almost disposable. Oh well. The search continues; thanks for your input.

    (PS: From a S/370-145 running OS/VS1, today it's a z/14 running z/OS 2.3. Very cool, but the S/370-145 at least looked like a mainframe!)
