It doesn't sound like you are referring to the POST codes, those beeps that you hear when the machine boots.

I haven't ever experienced a Motherboard beeping to warn on CMOS battery. If it is five+ years old it would not hurt to change it in a planned fashioned.

Your manual mentions a single beep but that is at POST. Means all okay. No mention of battery warning in section where they address changing CMOS battery.

    The beep ...

Does it happen when you are keying. I know occasionally if my machine is processing something, or a program is not responding, and I keep adding more input it will beep.

Might be an error warning. When it happens have you reviewed Reliability History and the Event Viewer for clues (matching time to beep).

Hi when i just on you-tube or blue-stacks i have a few applications open up but i do have good processor and memory. it is just weird as it never happened before but just asked as i normal assume the noise is not good also no bad information in reliability monitor or event viewer

Agree, unknown beeps would have me looking too.

Does this happen with some regularity, like does it happen every evening?

I ask as you might try a clean boot to see if this is being generated by another software product. Not a clean install, a clean boot.

Most PCs emit a beeb when a USB device is connected. This is configured by the Device Connect option in Control Panel / Sounds / Sounds tab. I suspect your poor USB connection could be causing the beep.

My 2012 Gigabyte motherboard fails to boot if the CMOS battery voltage drops below 2.8V. I need to change it every 2 years since I turn off my PC at the mains plug when not in use. I would change the battery if it is old. Take note of your BIOS settings since they will be rest when you change the battery.

Hi Steve i know about the beep but it is not same beep when you connect a new device via usb the noise comes the motherboard. i opened my pc and notice cpu fan was loose and gpu power cable was too so i checked to make sure there snug as a bug in a rug in there socket.

Lets hope that has got it. Things shouldn't beep because of touch unless you have some special super power?
