    Intel-related network adapter driver issue

Having problems to connect to the internet, I found in Device Manager that a certain Intel ICH10 R BM LM Ethernet Controller RTX64 network adapter is marked with the yellow exclamation, indicating the device driver is corrupted or missing, which is confirmed by the troubleshooter.

Since the option to revert is missing, I tried to update the driver, but Windows says I have the best already installed. Then I did all the basic steps to try to fix the issue, like disabling/uninstalling the driver, even Network reset, TNA.

From Intel's website I installed and ran its Driver & Support Assistant, which reported: "Sorry, we didn't find any supported Intel drivers or software."

The details of that network adapter driver say its manufacturer is IntervalZero, of which I've never heard before. I went to their website seeking for solutions, but couldn't find any. So I wrote them about the issue, two days passed and I still got no answer from them.

I decided to come here to ask for your help, because I absolutely don't know what I can do to make that driver work again or how to replace it. TIA.

1 You can right-click on its entry & select Uninstall device then let Windows re-detect it & reinstall a driver.

2 If that hardware item was supplied with your computer then go to the computer maker to find an installation file for the driver.

3 Otherwise, you can use this procedure for finding a driver using the device's HardwareID - my ditty - search for drivers by HardwareID - TenForums

    Hello @Paultx,

You can also download and run my Batch Script below which creates a .TXT file on your Desktop . . .

Under the heading msinfo32 [MS System Information] - Problem Devices . . ., run MS_Info32_Find_Problem_Devices.bat, Option [2] from here => BATCH PROGRAMS [Standalone].

You could then upload the .TXT file.

    I hope this helps!

I tried all I could find useful, including the tips you gave me here TNA.
But I remembered I had this recovery DVD I made a while ago with my notebook and used it to install another network driver, which replaced the faulty one.

After that, or maybe at some point while trying different solutions, I noticed that the error 0x8000FFFF was everywhere. Every time I tried to use Windows troubleshoot, no matter what item I chose, it reported problems related to that error. Even when I tried Windows Update it appeared. I even got the "A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting on Windows 10" warning and the problem was... error 0x8000FFFF!

So decided to make a Refresh using that same DVD, but Windows 10 came back without mouse, keyboard, and internet connection.

The final solution was to reinstall Windows from scratch.
