What partition should be active on Disk 0 ?

I assumed it would be the partition labeled System, But the Recovery partition has system in brackets, and i noticed that most have the one with system in brackets active. I know logically you wouldnt put the recovery as active. but im thinking it labeled wrong, and the recovery is the system, since in brackets it says system right below it? ill post a picture. I have the System partition active. but im terrified to reboot, since, the Recovery has system in brackets below it.

My Windows 10 version is Build 17618.1000

And when i use bcdedit in command prompt its tells me this info, ill post pic below. I assume i should have the Disk 0 Volume 4 as my Active, since it tells me Bootmgr is in that volume?

The first parition should be active or it wont boot if you set recovery as active and reboot it will start recovery not windows. The first one shouldnt have a drive letter it loads system files and passes control to c its done that way to activate encryption if installed. Recovery is called system as its used by the system and not a normal drive you can use

but why is it telling me bootmgr is in volume 4, and that is the recovery partition when i do bcdedit? And if it should not have a drive letter should i remove the letter? i can see it in my file manager. So your Positive i should make System my active partition. Even system info is telling me the boot is harddisk volume 4.

If i just use a program to Rebuild the MBR on Disk 0, would that hurt anything if its already fine? or would it set the proper one to active for me?

I think maybe there's some confusion here. It's apparent that the partitions on your disks were (mostly) not named very well, where names are chosen, not assigned by the system. Your first partition on Disk 0 is named System, but looks to me to be, in fact, your System Reserved partition, and it should be marked Active (i.e., that is not an error). Compare this screen shot from my computer. Names like "Local Disk" and "New Volume" look like names assigned by the system during the partitioning process as defaults when no other name was typed into the naming blank. That observation leads me to suspect that your C: drive should be renamed "System" after your D: drive's name is changed to something else. Changing the names of the drives is a simple task. "Image" is probably a poor choice for the name of your drive E:, and you might consider changing that, too, since you are unlikely to create an "image" of any partition on Disk 0 to another partition space on that same Disk, and with your present layout, you are unlikely to create an image of anything else. And if you boot that computer, it boots to C: (marked "boot" in your pic.), and not the tiny (looks like "System Reserved" to me) partition currently labelled "System D:".

Let's start a conversation here, and see whether we can sort out your Disk Management problems.

Don't be terrified (about ANYthing). If you started recovery by accident, it would ask you for confirmation, and offer you a way out long before it actually did anything major.

And Kyhi meant "Type diskpart" (Enter), then type "list volume".
