1.The saving of your files presuming they were only your personal files, has NOT effected the repair.
2. The hard drive currently in that computer is as I said earlier in the topic a spinning hard drive, in that it has platters, a disc that spins and a read write head that moves across the platters to read or write.
It is when running like any other hard drive susceptible to knocks and jolts to the laptop. Especially whilst the read write head is not parked.
The drive is here
https://toshiba.semicon-storage.com/...t-overview.pdf
As you can see it is a 2.5 inch drive as are most laptop drives and 7.0mm in thickness.
You can by a replacement for approx. £50UK pounds
I cannot find a Toshiba exact replacement but this one would fit.
Seagate 2.5-Inch 1 TB BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive - Silver: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
THIS TOSHIBA would also fit
Toshiba 2.5 1TB SATA3 L200 Hard Drive 5400RPM 128MB Cache 7mm - Laptops Direct
HOWEVER those are spinning drives like you have now and you may wish to upgrade to a SSD = Solid State Drive, no spinning disk, slightly faster to access data and not susceptible to the jolts that a spinning one is.
IT will cost you more

Do NOT buy the kit buy just the drive, the kit is to connect it usb and then clone your present internal drive to it and then replace the present internal with the new one.
It will NOT clone, as it would not upgrade repair install.
Here is another from Crucial
