I will rejoin you as usual about 1900
Be approx. 2100 hrs when I am online.

1.The saving of your files presuming they were only your personal files, has NOT effected the repair.

    2. The hard drive currently in that computer is as I said earlier in the topic a spinning hard drive, in that it has platters, a disc that spins and a read write head that moves across the platters to read or write.
It is when running like any other hard drive susceptible to knocks and jolts to the laptop. Especially whilst the read write head is not parked.
    The drive is here
    https://toshiba.semicon-storage.com/...t-overview.pdf

As you can see it is a 2.5 inch drive as are most laptop drives and 7.0mm in thickness.

You can by a replacement for approx. £50UK pounds
I cannot find a Toshiba exact replacement but this one would fit.
Seagate 2.5-Inch 1 TB BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive - Silver: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

    THIS TOSHIBA would also fit
    Toshiba 2.5 1TB SATA3 L200 Hard Drive 5400RPM 128MB Cache 7mm - Laptops Direct

HOWEVER those are spinning drives like you have now and you may wish to upgrade to a SSD = Solid State Drive, no spinning disk, slightly faster to access data and not susceptible to the jolts that a spinning one is.

    IT will cost you more
Acer Aspire Notebook A315-21 SSD / Hard Drive Upgrades - FREE Delivery | Mr Memory(R)
Do NOT buy the kit buy just the drive, the kit is to connect it usb and then clone your present internal drive to it and then replace the present internal with the new one.
It will NOT clone, as it would not upgrade repair install.

    Here is another from Crucial
    Crucial BX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-inch SSD | CT1000BX500SSD1 | Crucial UK

NOTE I will complete the post in about 30 minutes or so, I have got a phone call

To continue from my last post 111
Your drive at the present is as I sent on the link
    Toshiba MQ04ABF100
from your earlier post when I asked you what entry was in device manager.
and as I said on the last page of the FIRST link on post 111

It is easy to remove that drive and replace it with a new one.

    HOWEVER NOTE - IMPORTANT
That is in relation to the easy access to the drive
On some laptops it requires more extensive dismantling to get to a drive
On yours it only requires the removal of a panel on the base of the laptop.

See screenshot for your drive access

That all said and having worked with you for all this time, and as I have said, despite a few hiccups here and there I congratulate YOU. You have been great to work with, in your willingness and dedication to the topic.

    Therefore MY BEST advice.
DO NOT try and do this job yourself, although the actual act of changing the drive is relatively easy, you stand a VERY realistic chance of damaging the connection on the laptop, to which the drive connects.
IF YOU do THAT, this laptop is beyond viable repair, due to the costs of replacing the connection, on the system board, against the original cost of the laptop.

ADDITIONAL to that the laptop, has a battery which as you know is NOT easily removable, as on older laptops where you simply uncatched it from the base.

TO SAFELY remove that drive and connect the new one, the battery must be disconnected.
THAT requires the whole base panel to be removed

PLEASE take my advice, either find a knowledgeable friend who can do the job for you, and MAKE sure you know he is, rather than just someone who says "I can do that"
OR better still, take it to a local computer shop, NOT one of the giant multiples, make sure you enquire locally as to their reputation.

Get the prices of the drive you intend to use, from the examples I have given and your own websearch.
Ask the shop how much to supply and fit one of these drives. (you will then know if their charge is reasonable.
I estimate ONE HOUR LABOUR Charge - here in the UK from a local shop about £40.
YOU DO NOT need them to install Windows 10 for you
When you have the new drive, come back here and I will guide you AGAIN if necessary with the install of 10 on the NEW drive.

MY VERY BEST wishes to you.
    FINAL NOTE.

If the laptop is still booting, and you DO NOT have a Microsoft account and you are using a local user account.
See if you can establish a Microsoft account.
You should not have problems activating the Windows 10 on the new drive, as a change of drive is not considered a significant hardware change, but if you DO, it will be easier with a Microsoft account.

    ANY QUESTIONS Please ask
    BACK ONLINE ABOUT 2230

    WITH RESPECT
regarding your last about no money, credit card etc.
    I am sorry
There is nothing I can do about that.

Oddly enough, since I had nothing to do, I thought I'd do a ScanDisk, and for the FIRST time, it said there were errors (my laptop has been running even worse today), so I did the repair/fix, so that it does it in restart mode (so I can't fiddle around).. I guess I'll just keep doing scans - I have nothing else to do.

Anyway, thanks for all your help. I know you spent a lot of time, and I wish I could pay you for that... I tried to THANK every one of your posts, but was only able to do it for one, but it said it would boost your reputation.

    CHEERS
I really do wish you the best of luck with it
Thank you indeed for your THANKS on my post.
    I am obliged

There is really no alternative to replacing the drive as I see it.

If you want to undo that panel and check that the drive looks secured in its connection, then you can do, but do NOT attempt to remove it from its connection.

I doubt it is a connection problem, as if it was the problems would be more severe.

Do not keep running scans it will NOT help.

I do not know your real situation or indeed your local facilities, but can you not consider asking for some form of charity based loan to assist you.

    ONLY an idea -

    Goodnight
