The snapshot shows 26212 0653 4 April read only mode
The posted results show scan mode as you can see for 0639 on 4 April that is the second line on your image 26226

the chkdsk /r command is a five stage check not a three stage check
I strongly recommend to you that you go back and use that cmd as outlined

    chkdsk C: /r

You MUST then get this returned just copied from me entering the cmd shown on this copy and paste from my computer
As I said it may say Do you wish to force dismount Y/N if it does you type N and then you will get as shown.

IF you run it in read only mode by typing only
    chkdsk
then you do not have to restart the computer

You appear to be typing the cmd wrongly, rather than selecting the wrong entry in Event Viewer.
I'll try to start it before I go to bed, but I'm pasting whatever you put, so I'm saying this also because there might be something else we're not seeing?

Let me say this, just to be clear, since this is a 14-hour job, where I have no access to my laptop.

There are 3 things on that Start menu

    -Command Prompt
    -Command Prompt (Admin)
    -Run

    - - - Updated - - -

This shows it was scanned, and there is no read-only mentioned.

    - - - Updated - - -

Here is a scan, highlighted, minutes apart.... There is no mention of read-only

"Ckhkdsk was executed in scan mode on a volume snapshot."
    https://i.imgur.com/jEBJLhR.png

I've posted the last few posts because I would hate to waste a day by making a wrong selection. As I said, I'm copying and pasting whatever you type, so I must be doing something wrong.

    - - - Updated - - -

I was just about to run it, and got the same message as yesterday.. Maybe this is why its not working properly

The type of file system is NTFS
    Cannot lock the current drive

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

    1. On your post 25 it says
    GENERAL
Chkdsk was executed in read-only mode on a volume snapshot.
that is on both entries that you posted on post 25

    2. On the image you attached to post 26
    https://i.imgur.com/qgN2Ffx.jpg
it again shows that read only mode.

    3. On the same post below the image it says - for the 0639 hr scan
Chkdsk was executed in scan mode on a volume snapshot.
    4. On your last post there are NO images attached - but the link shows the same entry as previously mentioned

    5. The words read only mode - mean that the chkdsk was NOT run with a /r
    eg
    chkdsk /r

    6. The scan mode on a volume snapshot suggests that there is, as I said either a serious problem with the drive OR the connection to the drive - hopefully NOT the system board of the laptop
OR possibly, but unlikely - system file corruption. ( I cannot really at this stage see that being the cause.)

    7. Referring again to your last post
    It is
    Command Prompt (Admin)
    and you type

    chkdsk C: /r

If when you press enter, you do NOT get this

    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18363.752]
    (c) 2019 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk C: /r
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
even if the first line is different
THEN DO NOT RUN IT again, as you say it is a 14 hr job.

    8. Has this laptop had some manner of serious knock or similar - fall, jolt, etc.

    9. If you do not get that message as above at point 7, then as I said do not run the chkdsk again.

    10. I will give you the next steps if you do not run that chkdsk /r as above when I return about 1800 hrs.

Same thing.... The pic I attached works on other browsers, but it has no mention of read-only

It gives me the same message on Command Prompt Admin...

So I will await for your next steps.. Thank you, as this must be very frustrating.

Can we please clear up - one issue
That image you have now sent me
Same thing.... The pic I attached works on other browsers, but it has no mention of read-only

is the same one as you sent me before
The date shown is 4 April

So do I presume correctly that you have not run the chkdsk /r - AFTER my 32
as your reply post 33 - as above says

and as I said the image shows checks for the 4 April

Whereas the check if you did run it should be for the 5 April.

IF YOU HAVE run that check since my post 32 then do not run it again.

    Go here
    HD Tune website

download the trial edition of the HD Tune Pro
select the drive in the box at the top using the drop arrow
    Run the Health report
    see here
    HD Tune website

    and here
    HD Tune Help

    note if any failures reported

Then run the Error Scan - quick scan
and note if there are bad blocks or other errors as shown on the example in the link

I'm confused about the pic... On my end, it doesn't show anything that says "read only"... but I know imgur sucks..

I tried it, and it said the same message, and you said NOT to run it again, so I will download HD Tune, and follow the rest of your directions now.

I was simply saying that the image you have now just sent me is the same one you sent before.

    This
I tried it, and it said the same message, and you said NOT to run it again,

    is confusing to me
I just do not know which same message you refer to
in relation to me saying NOT to run it again.

    I SAID

This is really hard work. I will carry on trying to help, but I think possibly yo need to read MORE carefully what I post

Screenshot (Just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly)

Even when I try to use this page's graphics uploader, it gives me a blank, so instead of "Quick Reply", I'll do "Advanced".. Instead of using a URL, I'll attach it from my CPU.

On the bottom, where it says "Next Update" - it keeps doing this.. I don't know what to do from here? Do the scan?
