Using hands-frees as a microphone for a Windows machine

    Hello all,

I want to record my voice on my Windows 10 x64 machine but don't have a separate microphone and can't purchase it due to quarantine held in my whereabouts because of the virus.
But I have two hands-frees for an iPhone and a Nokia mobile phones. The problem is that they both have only one socket, presumably named Aux or like that but the desktop PC has two separate ports for microphone and headphone. When I put the socket of any of the hands-frees to the microphone port of the PC, very very rarely a tiny sound like a noise will be received by the machine.

I'm stuck into that problem and can't work it out!

How could I fix the issue and finally record my voice on the machine, please? Do you have any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much. I could finally find a headset with two sockets for the machine and now can record my voice.
But there is still a problem! The microphone sounds to be too weak. That is, when I speak normally the voice will be recorded at low sound and I need to speak very loudly to hear it normally (when playing the recorded file after recording)

Can it be a problem with the headset/microphone or are there settings on the Sound menu I can make the microphone work better by them, please?

Having just posted here in helping with Mic'd headphone I'll say they do make headphones with a single cable that also supports microphone use as well - Laptop not splitting headset mic & audio?.

    Just FYI

Sorry, I'm not sure I could understand it completely/properly. I'm using a "Headset" and a desktop Windows 10 machine.

The problem is that the headset's microphone "works" but it sounds to be weak. Or maybe there are settings whereby I can make it better.

    Any option?
