Which version of laptop do I have?

I purchased a GT76 Titan DT-230 from xotic pc. The laptop is great but I’ve been having some type of confusion on what drivers to download. I found the product page for the DT-230 and downloaded the drivers.

When I ran a few benchmarks and looked at my detailed hardware information with hwinfo64 they both say my laptop is a DT-9SF.

Which version of the GT76 do I actually have and will the drivers I downloaded for the DT-230 be the same as the drivers I can download for the DT-9SF?

    The DT-230 is as here
depending of course on any different spec MSI had on earlier models of the 230
    https://asset.msi.com/pdf/main/us/nb...%20DT-230.pdf?
    The chipset is a Z390
    Intel(R) Z390 Chipset Product Specifications

On the 9SF the chipset is
    Intel® CM246
Mobile Intel(R) CM246 Chipset Product Specifications
    ash shown on the spec
Specification for GT76 Titan | Laptops - The best gaming laptop provider | MSI Global

That maybe the easier way to check

OR does the MSI laptop not bear a label on the base somewhere bearing the model number

Or if possible remove the battery and look in that compartment, not easy to wear the label off. Also some will have necessary information in the BIOS, my Dells do.

I looked under the laptop and the sku says GT76 Titan DT 9SF-230US

I also compared all the drivers with winmerge for the dt230 & 9sf and all sets of drivers were identical.

So is it safe to assume this is a 9SF?

I would have to make that assumption.

    I agree with Berton
This is your link to the downloads etc
Support For GT76 Titan DT 9SF | Laptops - The best gaming laptop provider | MSI Global

I think IMHO the MSI site is a nightmare - why anyone would introduce such a wide range of laptops with so similar sounding titles I just cannot see.

I actually made mistake in my first reply, my chipset mention was wrong - the DT 9SF has the Z390 it is the 9SF that has the one I mentioned

On most manufacturer sites you can insert the serial number of the laptop to endure you get exactly the right one for downloads
I cannot see that facility on MSI - only to register your product.
IF however you did that, it may well then offer you the facility to use features on that part of the site to get your downloads

However the link is I am now certain as above
