It's an USB 3.1 Gen 2 enclosure in which a NVMe Memory Stick in inserted. I get in excess of 900-950 MB/ps. Sometimes I even get 1.2 GB/ps.

I use a Sabrent device and there is also another by StarTech which is very nice. Look here...

USB Type-C Aluminum Enclosure for M.2 NVMe SSD in Gray (EC-NVME) – Sabrent

    M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure | PCIe SSDs | USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) USB-C | StarTech.com

As for a USB flash drive, it is significantly lower - you need a quality 3.1, Gen 2 device, like Samsung, etc. Price depends on capacity and vendor.

    Here's what I use:

USB 3.1 Flash Drive DUO Plus 256GB Memory & Storage - MUF-256DB/AM | Samsung US

    Hope this helps!

Agree, I'm a big fan of StarTech products. All of the ones I have support trim on SSD's.

I bought a Sabrent - 3.0 USB sata hard drive flat docking station finally, I am 100% satisfied with it so far it works fine with either Windows 10 or Linux Mint 19.3.. the 3.0 wire is a big quality wire, the assembly itself is not too bad, not very high quality but the 3.5" internal HDD will fit inside like a hand in a glove, no problems. I had a 15.50CAD refund from Amazon, so the total price was about 21$ with taxes and shipping included.. to get a 1 TB HDD.

    I am a winner.

    Thanks for the tips here.
